What are Questions & Answers?

Questions & Answers is a feature that allows travelers to ask questions about a property, and to get quick answers from property representatives, past reviewers and other members of our travel community.

 

How do I ask a question about a specific hotel?

You can find Questions & Answers at the Q&A tab on a property’s listing page and ask a question by clicking anywhere you see the green “Ask a question” button. You must be signed in as a member to ask a question.

 

How do I answer a question about a specific hotel?

Click the green “Answer” button on any page in which the question is displayed. If you’re the first to answer a question, start typing in the open text field below the question. You must be signed in as a member to answer a question.

 

How do I remove a question or answer?

You can remove your own question or answer by clicking on the grey trash can icon next to your question or answer. Please keep in mind that once you delete a question or answer,  it cannot be restored.

 

How do I report an inappropriate question or answer?

You can report an inappropriate question or answer by clicking on the flag icon adjacent to the member’s question or answer. You can review our posting guidelines here.

 

What is upvoting and downvoting?

If you like an answer, click the up arrow to give that member a positive vote. If you found an answer to be unhelpful, click the down arrow.

 

A question was answered by a Property Representative. What does that mean?

When you see the label “Property Representative,” this means that an individual directly associated with the property has answered a question.

 

A question was answered by a someone who “Reviewed this property.” What does that mean?

When you see the label “Reviewed this property,” this means that the member also has a published review on TripAdvisor for the same property.

 

I received an email asking me to answer a question about a hotel I recently reviewed. How do I unsubscribe?

You can manage all your email notification preferences from the Subscription Center located in your member profile. You’ll find this notification listed as Past Reviewer Notifications in the TripAdvisor Community Updates section. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe directly from the unsubscribe link in your email.

 

How do I unsubscribe from notifications about answers to my questions?
